You look me between the bars
You smile at me
You bring all your friends
You showcase me
Here I am sitting and looking at you
I yell “help me”
I am caged in here
You get excited hearing my chirping
You tell me
What a good bird I have been
All I want is you to touch me once
To be in your arms
To be loved, to be warm
But all I am to you
Is the pet you feed
