My Bali trip

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Okay first thing is that it is NOT LIKE A BALI trip you all would imagine. I was there for my Baby’s cousin wedding, Elizabeth Wong.

Now about the wedding: It was a beautiful balinese wedding. The full works, apparently it was a Hindu ceremony, (notice the WAS) but nothing about it was like the local Hindu nor the India Hindu ceremony, but there were very few similiarities.

Day 1: It was our 2nd year together. Yes Lincoln and I have been together for over 2 years now, and it feels amazing! *love you much b* we arrived in Bali (air asia lah) at about 3 something and we arrived in our hotel, Puri Mersari at about something. The hotel we lived in was a boutique hotel and it was beautiful. It spelled Bali all over the place, I particularly loved the toilet!*no camera, guys, sorry* we chilled in the room, enjoying the undisturbed few hours together, without my phone ringing *since taking up the new job, I hardly have peace (notice its peace, not rest)* at about 5 something, we visited Elizabeth who lived next doorm, yes she lived next to the hotel.  She has about 7 dogs, and they were all tame. Nice.. after visiting her, Lincoln and I took a walk around Sanur (the town we lived in) and had our anniversary dinner at this balinese restaurant. The food was ok ah.. then we head over for the tea ceremony that Lincoln had to do as he was older than Eliz. We arrived there at about 8 something, the ceremony began at 9 something, then we adjourned for dinner (with everyone from the family - about 20 of em) we had, really not so impressive italian food in bali (i know). then finally we came home, and i realised oh my god, no one in the family actually knew it was our anniversary, and there was a moment when even i hardly felt it. Yes, it was a sad moment.

Day 2: the wedding. woke up in the morning at 9 something, and about 10 we were at the wedding ceremony. I could write lots about it, but the thing is that, i would have prefered to take pics and show u guys, so sorry about that. Will try to get some pics from Lincoln uncle, Alex and see if i can post some k? after the ceremony, we were served lunch, which was cool, cause they had satay, some rice, vegetables.. it was yummy food. I know i enjoyed it. After the wedding, lincoln and i came back to the hotel, and slept a bit as we had a late nite the previous night and just wanted to rest. we woke up and we had dinner invite again, this time with both Eliz family (all of us) and yogi (her hubby) family, comprising mostly of americans (yogi is mixed: American father + balinese mother) and trust me, this is one mix you may want to consider *wink* I had the chicken ala Kiev which was okay, not bad lah.. but funny how only lincoln and i had balinese food while we were staying there, I guess we took into the local;s culture and ways of life, we both feel intrigued by things like that. had a night cap (minum lah), then we came back to the hotel and slept. next day, back to kl

Day 3: woke up early the next day cause it is broad daytime at about 6 in Bali. yea i know.. being the light sleeper i am, sensitive to light as well as sound, i woke upo at 9 something, took my bath and went over to have breakfast by the balinese pool in the hotel. That was so good.. so peaceful and relaxing.. i still feel it now. I was sipping on my chocolate milkshake (which was my almost staple food while i was there). took a piece of my sandwich for Lincoln who was up in bed wide eyed, looking for me. he wanted to take a dip in the pool, while i was chilling by the pool reading my book. honestly, that was such a serene nice feeling… then eliz visited us, and she brought us to see lincoln’s bro lionel (the rest of the family were staying in sanur beach hotel, which was like 15 mins walk from where we were staying). We did nothing, but watch TV. It was time to bit everyone bye bye, we went back, packed and left bali.

ps: for those of "you" who may something anything, i had to say family as i am almost part of his family. so shut up!
